Evangelist James Daniel© 2017 James Daniel - Overture and Doctrinal: Wordy Introduction

My name is James Daniel. I'm an evangelist, and a member of the church of Christ. Did you know that the church of Christ is the only church the Bible teaches? As Paul once said, the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. - Galatians 1:20Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.. Despite the claims of false teachers; is that the church of the Bible exists by virtue of the faith of Christ. Furthermore, the church that the Bible teaches is of the seed of the word of God - Luke 8:11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.. That means, what the Bible teaches, and men put into practice, will produce what God intended. Whereas, all other churches that claim to be Christian are of the seeds of the words of men. What that means, is when men follow the teachings of men; it produces what the teachings of men intended. Secular history proves this beyond doubt. It's a far cry from the men that were moved by the Holy Ghost to write the oracles of God in the long ago. My friend, there is no alternative to the church of Christ, that is, if you want to be numbered amongst the saved. Moreover, the scriptures declare that the record of the faithful is kept in heaven - Revelation 20:15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire..

GOD WILL ONLY SAVE THE FAITHFUL

What does it mean to be faithful? Well, to put it another way: If you are a member of any other church, save the church of Christ; then you are no better off than if you were an unbeliever. If where you supposedly go to worship God involves the use of musical instruments, first century gifts of the Spirit, such as, speaking in tongues, or pastorial oversight in the form of one man, or even a woman, presiding over a congregation, or more than one congregation; then you do not have God. If where you attend worship condones homosexuality, allows for women preachers, same sex marriage, the unmarried living together, smoking, alcohol consumption, and gambling; then you do not have God. If the church you attend Sunday service teaches salvation apart from obeying the gospel and living faithful in Christ; then you do not have God. The Devil has more men preaching from the Bible than God. This is provable in the fact that religious Christendom survives at all. I say "Christendom" because that's what they call it. The Bible doesn't call it that. It calls it the falling away - 2 Thessalonians 2:1-21. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2. That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;. That's what you see when you have the likes of Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, and Pentecostalism all claiming to bear the cross of Christ. Don't be deceived by the outward appearance. None of them are of God. Not by a long shot.

On the other hand, if you obey the gospel, and live faithful in Christ; then you have both God, and the promise of God - Matthew 25:34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:. If you follow the traditions of men - Mark 7:7-8Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do., and expect to receive the same of God; then you are thoroughly mistaken. The Bible determines, that God is under no obligation to save men. Man is the one who does the sinning. Therefore, man must seek forgiveness of his sins if he is to resume fellowship with his Creator. Man is saved by grace which is unmerited favour - Ephesians 2:8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:. The Bible teaches that grace is applied through the faith of Jesus Christ - Acts 4:12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved., John 14:6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.. What that means, is when we demonstrate a readiness of heart to take God at his word, and do those things which are required of faith, that is, contained within the word of God; then we have God. This is when the cross of Christ takes effect. The blood of Jesus Christ was shed at the cross. He was once offered to bear the sins of many - Hebrews 9:2828. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.. However, for us to benefit of this; there are certain conditions in which we must observe, namely, our obedience to the first principals of the oracles of God. Faith, that is, to take God at his word, is vital. The Bible teaches, that its impossible to please God without faith - Hebrews 11:66. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.. Faith includes, confession of faith in Christ, repentance, and baptism for the remission of sins. That is to obey the gospel, even Christ, who is the author and finisher of our faith - Hebrews 12:22. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.. Then the Lord will add you to "his" church - Acts 2:4747. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.. That is what the Bible teaches. Who are you going to believe?

As for those who say that men can be saved in any church, well, let them prove it unequivocally from scripture. The simple answer is, they can't. The Bible teaches no such thing as choosing a church of your liking. That's not what the church represents. The church is the saved, the sanctified, and those who are set apart as God's heritage. The church belongs to God, and is in no wise the creation of men.

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER

Now before we continue any further, I'd like to expound somewhat on the use of modern English with respect to teaching scripture. I suppose vernacular would be an appropriate designation. As for the modern versions of the Bible, and their excessive rendering of words, not to mention, complete omissions, is bizarre to say the least, and certainly in the forefront in terms of antithetical. I remember discussing 1 Timothy 6:20O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: with a Canadian evangelist who immigrated to Belgium. Part of the verse read, "...oppositions of science falsely so called." He insisted that there was no such verse, that is, until we read it from the King James. For comparison sake, 1 Timothy 6:20O Timothy, guard [a]that which is committed unto thee, turning away from the profane babblings and oppositions of the knowledge which is falsely so called; in the American Standard reads, "...oppositions of the knowledge which is falsely so called." Now it's obvious, even to Joe Soap, that they fail to asseverate the common ground of translation. One can only wonder; given the fact that the American Standard is supposed to be English? For those of us that use the King James Bible; the American Standard does sound somewhat at odds. In saying that, I recently heard an American preacher remark on Acts 2:47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. from the King James Bible; particularly the latter part of the verse. "Such as should be saved." That's what the King James says. However, the American Standard renders it "...those who were being saved." Both translations may sound the same; but their not. He suggested that the King James implied that there were also those that should not be saved; as if that was wrong? I can hardly believe he compared the King James with the American Standard at all, let alone, any other modern version. It's not surprising given the fact that the King James has been under relentless attack for the past hundred years, or thereabouts. However, in context to what we just read; the King James is correct. As I said before, "Such as should be saved," is an implicit to those that have obeyed the gospel, and continue to remain faithful, that is, for the rest of their natural life - Matthew 24:13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.. When a man obeys the gospel call to faith in Christ, repentance, and water baptism, he effectively enters into agreement with God, to live faithful in Christ thereafter. However, if a man lives unfaithful thereafter; there is no promise of salvation; but rather the contrary - Hebrews 10:26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,. The promise of God, is that the faithful will be saved, whereas, the unfaithful will not.

Then you have those that contend that something can be got from all the translations. Whatever that's supposed to mean? It doesn't say much for the translation if only something can be got from it. There must be a standard, and a definition. How can a standard be determined if there's no standard by which to determine? For some, it seems, the whole counsel of God is broad term, and subjective. That's the same as saying that no translation is reliable, in, and of itself. I disagree with that concept entirely, save for the King James Bible. Why? Well, the King James translators were motivated by the threat that their heads would come off if they got it wrong. The same cannot be said of the translators of nowadays. You see, one of the main problems with modern translations is the rendering, and sanitizing of words that condemn sin, not to mention, all the unauthorized omissions that strangely enough, appear to be overlooked. If you remove any part of God's word, it can no longer suffice as the full counsel of inspiration - Acts 20:27For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.. God did not give us his word in vain, nor something to toy around with. For example, the King James refers to homosexuals as sodomites - 1 Kings 14:24And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.. Try finding that in the modern versions. Since when was adultery downgraded to infidelity? Why not call it by its proper name? Tampering with God's word is a malefactor of perdition. The end product being confusion, and ultimately, spiritual separation from the almighty Creator. The Bible says, that we must understand the will of the Lord - Ephesians 5:17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.. Ignorance is the antithesis of knowledge, and knowledge cometh before understanding - Proverbs 4:7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.. I suppose another reason why the various doctrines on salvation exist at all. There is only one doctrine that saves. In saying that, the divine solution is to preach the word - 2 Timothy 4:2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.. That of course depends on the word that is being preached. Never before has there been such a time in all of history where the word of God has suffered the act of contravention to such a degree. The subtlety of Satan has been progressive. Small steps in turning the hearts of men away from that which can save their soul. The current flows in the direction of hell; in which the Bible warns us in no uncertain terms.

More to come...

Paul wrote, in one of his letters to the Corinthian church, "I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." - 2 Corinthians 11:3But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.. You know, there's nothing simpler than simplicity. There's no such thing as a once off obeying the gospel, as if, that was all there's to it. The Bible teaches no such thing. Such teachings have their origins in Calvinism. What's more, they amount to nothing more than the leaven of false doctrine. The same leaven that will lead you to hell. Man is not just obligated to respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ; but is also accountable for what he chooses to believe. In saying that, the truth is always the less likely to be heard. It's not because the truth is unheard; but rather, unreceived. Men want to hear smooth things than to hear the truth. Very few men are willing to have their sins pointed out to them. But that won't change anything. If you want to go to heaven; then you must confess your sins to God, and repent. Jesus said, "...except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." - Luke 13:3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.. Read also, Isaiah 30:10-1110. Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: 11. Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.. Peter said, "...for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage." - 2 Peter 2:1010. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.. When men allow themselves to be brought in bondage to the teachings of other men, or religious institutions, such as Roman Catholicism, or Pentecostalism; they are seriously devoid of the grace of God, and will find themselves in a dangerous spiritual condition, not to mention, unsaved. Actually, there's nothing worse than being unsaved; for the hope of the unsaved is hell. Who wants to go there, and spend eternity in fire with the damned of all ages? You go there, and you go there to forever. It's as simple as that.

THE WARNINGS OF SCRIPTURE

Man is without excuse in case you haven't read. On average, the life of man is more than suffice to do what is right. So why not obey the gospel and save your soul? The Devil, ignorance, and sin, all agree that the soul of man is unworthy of salvation. Men seem to listen to the wiles of Satan than to hear God. Yet they forget the one who does the saving, not to mention, who, and what, will judge the soul of man - John 12:48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.. There's no putting off tomorrow with God - Hebrews 12:2525. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:, 2 Corinthians 6:2(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.). To refuse God, is to refuse salvation. God speaks through his word. God uses men to preach his word. Now that's not to say that some men don't abuse God's word; because they do. That's why the onus rests with the individual to know God's word. How can you know to do the will of God unless you learn it for yourself? That requires study - 2 Timothy 2:15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.. In any case, it doesn't detract from the fact that God uses men to minister his word to others. You've heard it said, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost?" You can read that in - Matthew 28:19-2019. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.. If men don't learn the Bible, how can they teach others, let alone, all nations? We read in Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God., that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Well, it goes without saying, that a man must open his mouth to be heard. I suppose it also depends on what comes out of his mouth. Remember what Jesus said, about that which comes out of the mouth defiling a man? - Matthew 15:10-1110. And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 11. Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.. The same could be said of false doctrine. It comes out of the mouth, and defiles both the sayer, and the hearer. As for those that would to preach God's word, they must contend with the indubitable - 1 Peter 4:11If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen., that is, if they want God's approval. Anything else is without authority.

At death, a physical separation of body and spirit occurs. The body goes to the grave; but what of the spirit? Well, the Bible teaches that the spirit of man will reap what was sown during his lifetime. When men obey God; they will receive of God according to their faith. As for those that have not obeyed God; they also shall receive according to their unfaithfulness, or unbelief. Either way, a man will reap what he sows - Galatians 6:77. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.. Now the faith of Christ has made it possible that all men can be saved. Yet the reality is that few are - Matthew 22:1414. For many are called, but few are chosen., Matthew 7:13-1413. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.. The majority of mankind don't listen, that is, until it's too late. You should read the passage about the rich man and Lazarus - Luke 16:19-31. It's not God's fault when men are condemned to hell. Man is accountable to God for how he lives his life here on earth. Man is also subject to the laws of God while he lives. In a dual sense, man is both subject to the laws of the land, and the laws of God. God's law being the higher law - Matthew 22:15-2115. Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. 16. And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. 17. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? 18. But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 19. Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. 20. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21. They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.. Like any law, when there is a transgression of that law, there are consequences. cf. - Luke 12:16-2016. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18. And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?.

SOME BIBLE & VERSE COMPARISONS

It's very important for every Christian to understand somewhat about the Bible version they intend to use. Following, are just a few that I've highlighted with the hope of planting enough doubt as to encourage you to consider using a King James Bible, and for obvious reasons. First off, from the King James Bible is Matthew 18:11For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost., "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost." The entire verse is omitted from the NIV, NKJV, and placed in brackets in the NASV. Verse 11 was in use the day after Pentecost; so why omit it? The verse exists in the original texts. I'll go into more detail about this in a proper study on the various Bible translations. Until then, I'll just highlight a few omissions so that we can be some the wiser. Another verse I thought we should look at is Matthew 17:21Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.. The verse reads, "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting." The entire verse is omitted from the NIV, NKJV, and both the ASV and NASV. Yet the same verse can be traced back to the 10th Sunday after Pentecost. Here's a very interesting verse that's rendered blasphemously in the American Standard Version. Luke 2:33And his father and his mother were marvelling at the things which were spoken concerning him; (ASV) refers to Joseph as Jesus father. The King James refers to Joseph, as Joseph - Luke 2:33And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.. How can Joseph be Jesus' father when Matthew 1:18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. states, that before Joseph and Mary came together (as man and wife); she was found with child of the Holy Ghost? That alone, is an attack on the deity of Jesus Christ.

Now I'd like to draw your attention to Matthew 5:22But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. in the King James. The forepart reads, "That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment." Notice the underlined, without a cause, is omitted from the ASV, NIV, and the NASV. When you remove "without a cause," you effectively change the doctrine. That presents a contradiction when we read Ephesians 4:26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: which allows for anger. In saying that, not just any kind of anger. Anger is a characteristic of the nature of man. Therefore, anger itself is not wrong. It's how we express our anger. In other words, a healthy, or indignatious anger. Something else we can touch on in a later study. So you see, that by omitting parts of the original doctrine will have a cause and effect on the rest of the doctrine, not to mention, what a man is led to believe. Sometimes you have to wonder about conspiracy.

More to come...

Brethren, my advice, is to stay clear of translations such as the NIV, ASV, NASV, NKJV, and so forth. If you want a reliable Bible that has stood the test of time; then find yourself an authorized King James. Any man that uses those versions would do well to start over with a King James Bible. Very few, it seems, dedicate any time to research the version of the Bible they choose to use. Indeed, some men are unawares that they are an accessory to false doctrine. Others of course, just don't care - Psalm 52:4Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.. Well, until the day of judgement, that is. Be under no illusion, my friend. God will hold such men accountable.

CONTINUING FROM EARLIER

Did you know, that the religious elite of Jesus' day made every effort to destroy the church? For crying out loud, they crucified the Christ of God. However, the remnant that remained after the destruction of Jerusalem around 70 A.D., were scattered abroad. That was the start of the spread of the church of Christ throughout all the world. Now in terms of antipathy towards the church, nothing has changed, only the Devil's had more time to perfect his skill of deception, not to mention, inception. His objective remains the same. Destroy the church. Destroy the doctrine. Destroy the faith of Christ. Destroy the deity of Christ. Such things are accomplished through confusion. Satan and his ministers are expert in that you know. Denominations exist on the merits of confusion. I'm sure you've heard, every seed after it's own kind. Well that's what you get when you plant confusion. Paul said, "A time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine." - 2 Timothy 4:3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.. My friend, God is not the author of confusion - 1 Corinthians 14:33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.. Are you willing to risk the faith of Christ for the sake of those that teach contrary to the will of God? Are you willing to risk the salvation of your soul because you want to believe something else? Are you of the number that prefer one man's preaching above another? Since when did favouritism ever prove what is true? Preach the word my friend, for therein is eternal life - 2 Timothy 4:2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.. Jesus said, "What shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Mark 8:37Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?.

Now what is an evangelist? Well, there are two types of evangelist; believe it, or not. One that teaches right, and the other who teaches wrong. As for the one who teaches right; he will teach as the oracles of God - 1 Peter 4:11If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.. Some confuse an evangelist as some kind of Pastor, or one that has the oversight of a local congregation. That's not scriptural. An evangelist is not an elder, nor does he preside over a congregation as one that hath authority. That belongs to the elders. They are the one's that have God's approval in terms of oversight. However, their oversight is limited to within the ranks of the local church. Their oversight is also limited to within the authority of scripture. I suppose one of the reasons why Paul left Titus in Crete, that he should set those things in order - Titus 1:5For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:. The phrase "churches of Christ" which we read in Romans 16:16Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you., is a biblical term, and refers to the interrelation of local congregations (churches) that make up the one body. Local congregations are found all over the world, and indeed, are the mechanism by which the gospel is normally preached. Once the conditions of the gospel are met, and where two or more are gathered together to worship God - Matthew 18:20For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.; then you have a local church. Just remember, that local churches of Christ make up thee church of Christ, as in, the one body, or church - Romans 12:5So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.. What sets the church of Christ apart from dead religions like Roman Catholicism is how she is patterned after the church in the Bible. As touching the evidence, we have the record of scripture to prove what is true. Now it goes without saying, that God said, to prove all things - 1 Thessalonians 5:21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.. For most, that's easier said than done. Why? Because they are false teachers. When has a liar ever told the truth? Yet, and for the most part; men prefer to hear lies, than to be told the truth - 2 Thessalonians 2:10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved..

As concerning the church, Paul said, "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ." - 1 Corinthians 12:12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.. However, and to avoid confusion, we need to determine the plurality of the church in the form of local churches that make up the one body. The individual local congregations are wholly accountable to the Lord. That means, they are self-governing, and responsible for what they teach and practice. That's why Paul instructed that elders should be appointed in all the cities. The first century church is for a perpetual archetype to all generations of those that should follow after. The Bible declares God's will in determining the pattern that the church must follow. Anything outside of this has no place amongst the redeemed in Christ. This is what sets the boundary of the habitation of those within the kingdom of God from those that are caught up in the traditions and religions of men. Now unless they too obey the gospel, repent, and are baptized for the remission of sins; they will go to their own place, as did Judas - Acts 1:25That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.. Those that should be saved are the same that have obeyed the gospel, and continue to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches, that the Lord adds those that should be saved to the church - Acts 2:47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.. The rest will do what they want.

THE KING JAMES BIBLE

Now concerning what Bible to use: Well, we choose the King James Bible, and for very good reason. I suppose the most obvious reason would have to be its trustworthiness, not to mention, the authenticity of the translation. In fact, there are several interesting studies into the King James Bible, and how it was produced. One of those studies will be available on this website later in the year. For those that contend that the King James Bible is difficult to read, let alone, understand, well I counter that, in exposing such a claim to be nothing more than loquacious babbling at best. The fact is, the language used in the King James Bible is easier to understand than most will give it credit for. What's more, the King James Bible will not allow for the apostate doctrines of the liberal and digressive elements that have infiltrated the church, and defiled certain of the ranks of God's heritage. Furthermore, the average size of a word in the King James Bible consists of no more than five letters. There is no such thing as resting on one's laurels concerning salvation, my friend. I suppose, another reason to be ever more vigilant in terms of the leaven of false doctrine. Therefore, I suggest, if you haven't a King James Bible, go and get one. Then you will possess something that can indeed be called, God's word.

IS THE BIBLEABSOLUTE?

IS THE BIBLEABSOLUTE?

You know, some teach that there is no such thing as truth, let alone, absolute truth. Are they absolutely sure about that? Others teach that truth is subjective. Sounds a little one-sided don't you think? Then there are those that deny all truth except their own. Talk about burning the candle at both ends. Pilate said, "What is truth?" - John 18:38Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.. In contrast, the Son of God said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.. He also said, that truth is attainable. In like manner, the apostle John said, that no lie is of the truth - 1 John 2:21I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.. Who are you going to believe? Just you remember how the words of the Bible came about. Was it not by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit? who heareth, and speaketh the things of God - John 16:13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.. For what man knoweth the things of God save the Spirit of God - 1 Corinthians 2:11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.. Remember Paul's words? For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ - Galatians 1:12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ..

Now the Bible teaches that the Lord has only one church. It also teaches that it belongs to him, and is the pillar and ground of the truth - Colossians 1:18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence., 1 Timothy 3:15But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.. The problem today, however, is the spread of false religious beliefs, wherein all claim to be Christian. Man made religions. Yet none of them contend for the truth at any time, because if they did, they would have no part in the religious division they have an affinity to. Interestingly, they all have their own traditions, and doctrines, wherein, each claims to have the edge over the other. Looks to me like history repeating itself. Wherein times past, men violated the commandments of God thinking they were doing service to God. Why, even the apostle Paul spake of such things - Galatians 1:13For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:. Then you have those that claim that all religions are essentially the same. They say, no one religion is better than another. I guess whoever believes that doesn't read the Bible to often. Jude claimed, that the faith that was once delivered, was once delivered - Jude 1:3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.. So where did all the other faiths that claim to be Christian come from? I'll tell you where they came from. Men invented them. Men made them up. They certainly didn't come from heaven, that's for sure. For crying out loud, they don't even agree with each other, so what does that tell you? Any man in his right mind will see the confusion in that. Yet the Bible teaches that God is not the author of confusion - 1 Corinthians 14:33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.. They might well have fooled me only I read the Bible.

The Lord's church is patterned after the new testament, and rightly so. And why shouldn't it be, since it is the Lord's church? I suppose, that is one of the marks that distinguishes the Lord's church from all the rest. Paul said, the Lord knows them that are his - 2 Timothy 2:19Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.. I guess that rules out Catholicism, and all her denominational progenies. The sad fact, is that Ireland is predominantly Catholic. The majority of Irish Catholics are so ignorant of what the Bible teaches about the gospel of Christ, it beggars belief. In spite of that, some inroads are being made in terms of engendering the truth. Needless to say, our battle is not with flesh and blood - Ephesians 6:12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places..

Now the Bible teaches that for one to become a member of the Lord's church; he must first believe - Hebrews 11:6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.. The Bible calls belief, "faith." So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God - Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.. This in turn furnishes us with the understanding that the faith in question is what we read from the Bible. What we read from the Bible is the faith of Christ, and rightly so, since Christ is the one who does the saving. Christ shed his blood for many for the remission of sins - Matthew 26:28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.. We come in contact with the saving blood of Christ when we obey the gospel, and are baptized - Acts 22:16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord., 1 John 1:7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin., Romans 6:3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?, 1 Peter 1:19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:. Did you know that when a man obeys the truth he purifies his soul? Well the apostle Peter thought so - 1 Peter 1:22Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:. Jesus said, that God's word was truth - John 17:17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.. Therefore, when one is baptized; he obeys the truth. Now that doesn't rest well with the change agents; but what of that? Peter and John said, whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto men more than unto God, judge ye - Acts 4:19But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.. Joshua spake concerning his house, and who they were going to serve - Joshua 24:15And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.. Peter said, "For of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage." - 2 Peter 2:19While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.. Who do you serve? Is your religion from man or from God? Paul said, if we seek to please men, we are not the servants of God - Galatians 1:10For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ..

You see, the verity of scripture is undeniable. The correctness of scripture is methodical. The truthfulness of scripture is absolute. If taking heed unto oneself, and unto the doctrine is able save one's soul; the assertion is therefore, absolute - 1 Timothy 4:16Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.. You do realize that all prophecy relating to Christ in the old testament has been fulfilled? Therefore, the prophecy of scripture was absolute. The same is being fulfilled in our time. 2 Peter 3:10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. testifies to that. What I'm trying to show you is that absolute truth exists. Absolute means, total, pure, perfect, unchanging, and so on. Remember what Paul said concerning the full counsel of God? When that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away - 1 Corinthians 13:10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.. That came to pass, my friend. That which is "perfect" in verse 10, is neuter gender. That means it did not refer to a person. This is proven in the fact that Christ had already come, and returned back to heaven by the time Paul had received this revelation. The only other answer that is fitting is that it refers to the object of the full counsel of God's word. We now possess that in the form of the Bible. Jesus said, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." - John 5:39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me..
